Filing Informal Brief

An Informal Brief is your summary of the issues you are appealing. Any issues you want the appellate court to review must be presented in your brief, along with your statement of facts and your argument as to what you think the District Court did wrong.

This guided interview will help you draft your Informal Appellant's Brief by guiding you through key questions about your case. You will need to explain what happened, what court decision you are appealing, and why you believe the decision should be changed.

Once completed, you must file your brief with the Nevada Supreme Court by the deadline given in your case. The court will review your arguments and decide whether the lower court's decision should be upheld or changed.
